Learning Haudenosaunee History

In order to increase our organization’s cultural competency and expand community relationships, CGR hosts monthly events on topics related to diversity, equity and inclusion. In May and June 2024, we engaged in two sessions with Ronnalyn (Ronnie) Pollack, a member of the Mississauga’s of the Credit First Nation/Six Nations of the Grand River, to learn about Haudenosaunee history, the historical impact of colonization and U.S. policy and the current state of the Haudenosaunee.

Claverack Tackles Complexities of Fire Protection Funding

The Town of Claverack has a complex arrangement for providing and funding its fire protection.

Community-based, participatory evaluation for Whole Child Initiative

CGR was engaged by the Whole Child Initiative (WCI) of the ROC the Future Alliance to co-develop and implement an evaluation to examine the implementation and impact of strategies to transform education, health and other systems to better serve the needs of Rochester’s Black, Indigenous and other families of color.

CGR selected for Urban League of Rochester Strategic Plan

CGR was selected by the Urban League of Rochester to develop a three-year strategic plan that will identify a unifying vision for its 7 focus areas: Equity and Advocacy, Youth Education and Development, Workforce Development, Family and Children Services, Entrepreneurship focusing on minority and women-owned businesses, Services for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities, and Economic Development.

Fire and Police Focus of CGR recommendations to Raritan Township, NJ

CGR was engaged by Raritan Township, NJ to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the operations and services of both the Raritan Township Police Department (RTPD) and the all-volunteer, independent Raritan Township Fire Company (RTFC).

Village Incorporation Study Models 3 Scenarios

CGR was engaged by New York State to examine the potential fiscal and operational impacts of a new village incorporation in the hamlet of Edgemont, a community of almost 8,000 people in Greenburgh, a town of 95,000 that contains six villages and an unincorporated area.

Building Evaluation Capacity in Afterschool Programs

CGR collaborated with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Erie, Niagara, and Southern to expand its evaluation capacity. CGR assisted BBBS with designing an analytical framework to evaluate student outcomes by investigating student grade trends among 3rd through 8th graders in eight Greater Buffalo area schools over two school years (2021-2022 and 2022-2023).

Addressing Challenges in EMS in Allegany County

Allegany County engaged CGR to conduct a comprehensive analysis of its emergency medical services system and develop a series of actionable recommendations for the County and the EMS agencies to consider. The County has had a growing number of EMS incidents and a declining number of EMS providers.

Telling Compelling Data Stories

CGR recently created three StoryMaps for our Aspire Arkansas community indicators website focused on food insecurity, early childhood literacy and the challenges facing working, low-income individuals and families.

Strategizing on ambulance service in Southern Madison County

The Town of Hamilton, with financial support from the Town of Lebanon, Colgate University and Community Memorial Hospital, contracted with CGR to develop a strategic plan for the Southern Madison County Volunteer Ambulance (SOMAC) designed to address its financial challenges and enable continued ambulance service in the area.
