This website is designed to facilitate community engagement as the towns of Gerry and Charlotte, and the Village of Sinclairville explore the opportunities and risks posed by merging. The Town of Gerry has engaged CGR to conduct an in depth analysis of all aspects of local government in the three municipalities. The focus of the study will be on service delivery—how would the merger ensure that the residents will receive equal or better municipal services while reducing the cost of local government.
Please check back often for updates, and be sure to sign up online to receive email alerts as new information is added.
CGR will spend time on-site meeting with key stakeholders, interviewing officials and department heads, and gathering data regarding budgets, operations, and governing structures. The resulting analysis will provide the community leaders with insight into the current state of local government and the potential changes for the future. Throughout the process, residents will be asked to provide feedback via the project website and at public meetings scheduled for the purpose.
The process is being overseen by a Consolidation Committee composed of Town and Village residents including representatives from each with assistance from CGR, a nonprofit management consulting organization with expertise in government management, public finance and municipal consolidation processes.
The Consolidation Committee and CGR encourage public engagement in this process. Please submit your comments, questions and other feedback by clicking here and visiting the public engagement page.
