Be a Part of Shaping Effective Change

Supporting CGR is your opportunity to foster informed public policy, independent research, and fact-based decision-making. In the past year alone, CGR has focused attention on critical challenges, including those facing low-income families who need child-care subsidies to stay in the workforce or veterans reintegrating into our communities upon their return from Iraq and Afghanistan. We've also put a spotlight on the very significant challenges that county nursing homes across New York are facing, and explored for communities from Long Island to Buffalo how service sharing or consolidation can improve efficiency and effectiveness and reduce the tax burden.

Why Give?

CGR needs philanthropic support to conduct research in the public interest that is not funded by our clients. Every year we undertake special initiatives that grow out of the work we do and involve issues or concerns we do not see others addressing.

Our 2010 initiative focuses attention on the importance of measuring the effectiveness of human service delivery by using evidence to show progress. Our recent initiatives have focused on community health planning, voter concern and property tax reform.

Your contributions allow CGR to:

  • Provide decision support to our community leaders to help direct limited resources in ways that will have maximum impact.
  • Make research findings readily accessible to the general public.
  • Act as a resource for the community by distilling “what is happening” and clarifying how policy actions impact our daily lives.
  • Undertake special initiatives to serve the public interest.

With your help, we can inform and empower leaders – and shape a stronger, brighter future for our community.
