The Plan
The Board of Trustees for the Village of Seneca Falls NY voted to initiate a dissolution process in the fall of 2008. A dissolution study committee prepared a dissolution plan during calendar year 2009 and delivered it to the Village Board for their review. Learn more

Study Team
The dissolution plan (and potential alternatives to dissolution) was developed by a nine - member Village/Town Dissolution Study Committee with assistance from the Center for Governmental Research (CGR), a nonprofit consulting organization with expertise in government management. The committee was also be staffed by the Village Administrator, the Village Mayor, and the Town Supervisor.

Timetable
The Village Board adopted the Dissolution Plan (with certain caveats) and subsequently approved a resolution to dissolve the Village in January, 2010. A proposition to dissolve the Village was prepared and will appear on the ballot on March 16, 2010. There will be one more public hearing to discuss the proposition on February 8, 2010.
