Study Released

The Ontario County Regional High School Feasibility Study was released on June 8, 2012. The report, subtitled "Options for Addressing Rising Costs and Shrinking Enrollment" provides a foundation for community discussions about how to preserve high-quality high school education in the future.

 

There is no formal action required, but, according to Dr. Joseph Marinelli, District Superintendent at Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES, "With the results of the study in hand, each school district's Board, superintendent and community will now have an opportunity to review the results and decide what action, if any, to take."

Community Input Meetings

Public forums were held on January 3rd at Finger Lakes Community College and on January 5th at Hobart William Smith Colleges.

Why a regional feasibility study?

For most communities business as usual is not an option. Increasing fiscal pressures and expanding expectations for students and schools demand new thinking.


This study is a strategic planning process to help the regional community identify potential ways for districts to work together to maximize the high school experience for students in Ontario County now and into the future.
